Review: Weak For Him by Lyra Parish

"Have you heard the saying, 'sex sells'? Well, I'm the supplier."

Finnley Felton sells sex.
Jennifer Downs is a virgin.
With the help of lady luck, the two meet.

Money. Bright lights. Sex.

Jennifer is made an offer: sell her virginity to the highest bidder and transform into one of Finnley's girls. But she finds herself weak for him, and doesn't fully realize what she's agreed to until it's too late.

Will she rise to the challenge and play by the rules in a land where money is king and love is prohibited? Or will she lose herself and values in the attempt?

Weak for him is a New Adult Contemporary Romance with sexual content.

Holy fucking crap y'all!!!!!!!!!

(I promise no spoilers because this book isn't out yet.)
I hardly have words to explain all of my feels for this book right now. I received an ARC from the author (thanks Lyra!!). I knew I would like it just by checking out the description. I knew it. Sex. Alpha male. Money. Dude, it was written for me.
Finnley Felton is a total fucking asshole. (I'm pretty sure he's my soul mate). The way he treats Jennifer is emotionally confusing and sexually frustrating. In a good way. Their relationship is complicated and full of angst. I seriously LOVED every second of it.
There were moments when I was so damn frustrated I couldn't handle it. I wanted to shout at my kindle. There were moments when I cheered. There was one moment where I wanted to cut Finnley's ball sack off.
You'll know what I'm talking about when you get there. I'm still a little pissed off about it, LOL.
Overall, I read this book in one sitting. I seriously couldn't put it down. There was one point where I had to pee and literally held it because my kindle needed to be on the charger and couldn't go with me. (LOL, that's when you know a book is awesome!) I really just loved every minute of this book and I can't wait to read the sequel. I know it is going to rock!
If I could I would give this book like thirty more stars, y'all! <3 Seriously buy it when it comes out on January 15th!!!

Review: Revenge in Rio by Samantha Darling

Calculated revenge, unexpected passion…
Business magnate Luca Venancio is returning to Rio to pay his respects to his late brother, and to seduce his once fiancée, Daniella, back into his bed. Five years ago she left him without so much as a word, shunning him and the rich life he could offer in exchange for his younger, reckless brother. Now Luca wants revenge—seduce her and dump her, that's all he intends to do.
Blackmailed into a violent farce of a marriage, Daniella had no choice but to comply to protect Luca's life, even though it meant never being able to see him again. Years later, a twist of fate reunites them, throwing her plans of fleeing Rio out of the window and the love of her life straight back in.
Luca's flawless plan soon becomes complicated when he discovers Daniella is expecting his brother's child. It becomes even more complicated when old passions return. Can he actually go through with seducing her, bedding her, and then discarding her?

Image and video hosting by TinyPicFavorite quote: "He sat up straight, replaced his designer shades, and smiled to himself. If she wanted to play dirty, he was ready. Hardball was his strong point. It would make the revenge all that much sweeter, and he couldn't wait to taste it."

This is how I felt the entire time reading this novel. I seriously could not get over how amazing the writing was and how troubled both Luca and Daniella were. I love characters who have a past together, especially one as tricky as these two have. Daniella literally left Luca for Luca's brother and it killed him. It ripped him apart inside.

But he still kept tabs on Daniella, even after she married his baby brother. He couldn't stay away from her. He loved her and hated her all at once. Once his brother died he went back for her. He wanted to break her heart. To rip her to shreds just like she hurt him.

I LOVED IT. LOVED LOVED LOVED. I don't even have any other words for it. I loved how Luca struggled with his hate and love for Daniella, the entire book. And Daniella, wow. I loved her too. She was a fantastic character that I couldn't help but connect with. She has had things so incredibly tough, not mention she is pregnant with her asshole, deceased husband's baby.
The entire book was just amazing. That's the only way I can put it. There was so much tension, so much hatred and love.
When everything finally comes to a head between the two, I cried. That's right, I actually sat on the couch sniffling like a damned baby.

Darling delivered it perfectly though and I couldn't have been happier when the book ended with a HEA.
This book was so amazing. You should go and buy it now. Seriously GO!

Review: Theirs to Play by Kenya Wright

I am so pumped to be reviewing this book. It was FLURPIN good. For reals.

Two billionaire brothers enjoy twisted games where women are the sport. They find a female, date her, and compete to see who can bed her first.

Too bad they picked the wrong one this time. Dawn's too smart for their verbal play and too quick to get trapped by clever ploys.

The more the brothers work to capture her heart, the more they discover she might not be theirs to play.

Review: Whiskey and a Gun by Jade Eby

Y'all, I am SO excited to be writing this review SOOO excited! eeek! I hosted the cover reveal for this book last week and since the moment I read the description and saw the cover, I have been salivating over it.
Here's a little about the book...

I only meant to love her...
Tawny Owens was going to help me escape my past. She was going to change my future.
But that's not what happened.

I don't know if I can control it much longer. This insatiable need to kill the only good thing in my life.
But this isn't her story - it's mine.

Review:

Okay, before I say anything about the book itself, let's talk about that beautiful cover. It was that coupled with the freakin' awesome blurb that caught my attention. I think Eby is genius in the way she crafted the blurb. It is really evasive and yet compelling all at once. Definitely makes me want more!

Now, onto the book. I came into this story not really knowing what to expect, and man, was I surprised.

Y'all know I love fucked up characters. I love it when they are flawed beyond all reason--to point where they seem unredeemable. Jade definitely tackles this in Whiskey.
Carter is SO flawed that there were times that I wanted to stab him, literally.

I wanted to hate him. I wanted to add him to the long list of heroes who suck butt, but I couldn't. There was something so compelling about his character, even when he was doing horrendous things that I didn't agree with, I still loved him. I still wanted better for him because I believed that it was in him. Jade weaves this complicated dynamic of characters that makes you question what is right and wrong how far someone can go before they become unredeemable.

In other words: Mind=Fucked.
Now keep in mind, this is a short story, a companion to the upcoming novel The Finish, so there are a lot of things left unanswered in this story, and to be desired. I struggled with this a little as how I would rate the book, but ultimately I base my ratings on how the book makes me feel after I finish. The one's that keep me thinking WTF just happened? Those are the kind of books I love. This is definitely one of those. I read part of it in between classes at school and hated that I had to stop reading. I ended up finishing it in my car because I couldn't wait until I got home to see what happened.

I can't wait for the next book. I need to know. I NEED to! Seriously you need to check this out. Add it to the top of your TBR pile NOW. :)
I will leave you with this image of Tyler Durden. This sums up a lot of my feels in the story.

5 FRICKIN ' AWESOME STARS!

Review: Captive in the Dark by CJ Roberts

Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was.
Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

Review:

K so... when I bought this book, I knew it was going to be dark && it is no secret that I love book with dark effed up characters.

It didn't disappoint. In fact, it was more than I expected. I've read a lot of books that were just hardcore slave/master situations that were full of rape.

This wasn't so much like that. The line between what is right and wrong is severely blurred in this novel. There were moments when I hated Caleb so much I cried.

There were others when I loved him, when I wanted to pull him close and never let him go. (Apparently I'm just as crazy as Livvie, lol) I struggled the entire book with my feelings for both characters.
Livvie is the victim, but she is strong, and I believe she is very honest in her feelings. She doesn't want to feel anything but hate for Caleb, but she finds that the line between love and hate isn't as easy to define as she thought.

Overall, I really loved this book and I would recommend to anyone who likes dark effed up romance, like me. :-)

Five Stars!

Review: Bad For You by Kenya Wright

Eeeek! I am so excited to be reviewing this bad boy!!

"It's Quentin Tarantino meets Love Jones"- K. Wright, Author

This chess board is different than a normal one. Instead of a king and queen, we have a Killer and Survivor. Where knights and bishops should be, there are Strippers and Gangsters. Yet, in this game of sex and deception, blood stains and life, an intense love grows in the most unusual places, leaving all of the players to consider dropping their guns and rethink why they started the battle in the first place. Bad for You is an erotic romance serial novel that progresses over several volumes and are 85 pages each.
Review:

I had the pleasure of editing the freakin' awesome novella. I always look forward to getting something new to edit from Kenya for several reasons... 1. It's always freakin' hot 2. I never know what to expect.
She didn't disappoint with this one. She isn't kidding when she says it's Quentin Tarantino. This plot-line is dark, so dark! With characters that are incredibly flawed and unlikeable at times, which in turn makes me love them because they are so real. Both Melody and Kane are bad with a twist I never saw coming! I can't wait to see what Kenya does with the next book!

5 stars!!!

Review: The Babysitter by Kenya Wright

Hey y'all! Over the weekend I had the privilege of editing a really awesome erotic novella by Kenya Wright. Check out my review below.

Blurb: "In my guest room, Blake caresses my neck and surrounds me with his scent, a haunting mixture of rosemary and lavender, so subtle, yet sure to sink into my sheets, so that I can smell him minutes after he leaves and goes to his sleeping wife."

Paige has a problem. She's in love with her married boss, Blake, the father of two kids that she watches. After his wife left him for another man, he hired on Paige as a live-in babysitter. For a year she not only got his household back in order, but helped heal the family's broken hearts.

But, now things have changed.

Before Paige can confess her feelings to Blake, his wife returns. She wants to repair their marriage. Blake thinks it would be good for the kids, but Paige doesn't believe his wife deserves forgiveness and she's tired of hanging in the shadows as the love of her life slips away.

No. Things have definitely changed and Paige is tired of being the good little babysitter. It's time to be very naughty, so wicked that Blake's length stirs in his pants when she strolls by him in thin sun dresses that taunt his view and make his throat go dry from heated lust pumping blood to his veins.

Can Blake stay loyal to his wife and kids or does he find himself in the babysitter's sensual grasp, spiraling down into all-consuming passion?

The Babysitter is an erotic novella at 15,000 words.
